Medication for Addiction Treatment Training
Training to incorporate medication for addiction treatment into your program safely and effectively.
Overview
This training is designed for established treatment courts seeking to incorporate medication for addiction treatment (MAT) into their program. Participating teams take part in a 1.5-day, in-person training conducted by seasoned experts in addition science, pharmacology, and evidence-based treatment court best practices. Teams will receive training at no cost in their home jurisdiction.
Before You Apply
What you need to apply:
- Commitment to participate from the full treatment court team (at minimum: judge, prosecutor, defense counsel, court coordinator, community supervision, substance use treatment provider, and law enforcement)
- A training room or facility with audio/visual capability

- An overview of available medications designed to treat addiction
- Treatment, prescribers, and available funding in your state
- The legal implications of MAT
- How to adapt your program to MAT in a way that is safe and effective

There is no cost to your jurisdiction for this training. This program is supported by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Executive Office of the President.
