Incentives, Sanctions, and Therapeutic Adjustments Training
Facilitate real behavior change in participants with tools and techniques from the latest research and innovations.
Overview
This training is designed to improve how your team effects behavior change in treatment court participants. Participation in this two-day training will give your team the tools to create an effective, research-based strategy to improve how your program uses incentives, sanctions and therapeutic adjustments to improve outcomes.
Trainings are conducted by faculty experienced in treatment courts and the science behind their success. Trainings are available virtually or in-person at no charge to your jurisdiction. Each participating team also receives follow-up consultation to assist in implementing your new strategy.
Before You Apply
What you need to apply:
- Commitment from your full treatment court team to participate in the training (at minimum: judge, prosecutor, defense counsel, court coordinator, community supervision, substance use treatment provider, and law enforcement)
- One point of contact for all training coordination
- Submission of your policy and procedure manual and participant handbook

Cost
There is no cost to your jurisdiction for this training. This program is supported by the Bureau of Justice Assistance within the Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice.
